The cannabis industry is one of the fastest-growing in the country. As it continues to grow, more and more options are becoming available, including cannabis oils. Cannabis oils are concentrates that involve a process to extract the cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds from the plant matter. They have numerous applications, making them incredibly versatile. If you’re interested in giving them a shot, these are just a few of the cannabis oil uses you can try.

Tinctures

One of the most popular uses for cannabis oil is tinctures. Some are alcohol-based, while others are oil-based. You typically take these products sublingually. Under the tongue, the cannabinoids and terpenes can absorb directly into the bloodstream, allowing them to get to work in as little as 15 minutes.

If you don’t like the taste of the tincture, or you prefer a different method, you can also add your dose to a food or drink. Keep in mind that this method requires a bit more patience. Since the cannabis compounds are processed through the liver, they take longer to start working.

Capsules

Cannabis oils can come in capsule form. One of the greatest benefits of capsules is that they offer accurate dosing every time. You don’t have to worry about measuring anything; the work’s already done. They do take longer to take effect, as well, meaning they don’t provide the same fast-acting results as a sublingual application.

Edibles

The world of edibles has grown and changed significantly since the legalization of cannabis in many states. There are baked goods, chocolate bars, and gummies. There are also numerous new beverages on the market, including sparkling waters, sodas, coffees, and tea.

With cannabis oil, you can create edibles at home. After decarboxylating your favorite strain, infuse it into butter or cooking oil for use in just about any recipe. You can bake cakes or cookies, sautee vegetables, marinate meat, or mix up an infused salad dressing. You can also add your cannabis oil to coffee, tea, or smoothies.

Topicals

Cannabis-infused topicals, which include lotions, creams, and balms, provide near-instant, localized pain relief. You can use them to help with chronic pain, arthritis, or sports injuries. You can also use them to help with sunburns, eczema, psoriasis, and more.

In addition to providing fast relief, cannabis topicals also won’t get you high, even if you’re using a high THC strain. The cannabinoids can’t reach your bloodstream. Instead, they interact with the cannabinoid receptors in the skin for localized relief.

Vaping

Cannabis oil can be sold in cartridges for use in vape pens. Vape pens are more discreet than joints, as they don’t give off the same pungent odor that sticks to your hair, clothes, and personal belongings. They also don’t have the same impact on the lungs.

You may also come across cannabis oil for dabbing. These solid oils are highly concentrated, so a little bit goes a long way. They’re used in specialized vape devices known as dab rigs. Both dab rigs and vape pens offer fast-acting effects.

Cannabis oils have many applications. If you’re not sure where to start, a budtender at your local dispensary can help. As with any other product, remember to start with a small amount and gradually increase your dose to reap the most benefits.
